Daanam - gifts -

James Prinsep, archaeologist, philologist and official of the East India Company, working with Alexander Cunningham is credited to have completely deciphered the Brahmi script.

James analysed a large number of donatory inscriptions in Sanchi, and noticed that most of them ended with the same two Brahmi characters.

Princep took them as Daanam - gifts -  which allowed him to complete the puzzle, and fully decipher the script.

Dharma is not about worship of a deity, scripture or a person.

A discontented human's thirst, to look beyond the known, is called Dharma.

Awakening of intelligence means, having an insight into a human issue.
And insight means observing what is, with a mind that is completely free - and therefore empty.
That emptiness gives you insight.
That insight awakens this intelligence.

Or, having this intelligence, there is this insight - it works both ways.

Most of us, are discontented.
And that very flame of discontent, becomes a great passion.
And that passion is this intelligence.

That all people were under the same umbrella, is clear from the fact that, we all share the same sense of year, month and week, since ancient times.

The Gregorian calendar based on  Roman calendar, is similar to our present day Indian almanac - the Panchanga.

The Indian lunar year begins in the new moon of March - Ugadi.

Initially, the Roman calendar also marked the new year in March.
And they named the seventh month as September -Saptha-, the eighth as Ashta or October, the ninth as Nawa or November and the tenth as Dasha or December.

As a contrapposto, in India, there is evidence of January being marked as the first month of a year. Month of Mrgasirsha, or mid- December to mid-January, is referred to as Agrahayanam. 

We can infer that in each land, people reckoned a month, as the transit of Sun in a zodiac sign.
