Parvati jayanti

To renounce is to not leave everything behind, wear a loin cloth, and sit at a river bank.

It means, we are not tethered by ropes of likes &  dislikes, to objects or subjects.

It means, we do not hoard, create stockpiles. There is this woman in her 80's, who indulges in sweets - only twice a year.

Once, on Ram Navami.  And six months later, during the festival of Debilitated Luminaires.

Walluwar Jayanti

When you go on a pilgrimage you reach a site, a tirth.

It could be a building, a spot, a river bank, a temple built by kings, a mystic's tenement, . . . .

But in your life, when your mind recedes, . . . stations, . . .  becomes still, . . . that experience is Tirth.

Mokshada Ekadashi

 Kabir asserts, "Niraadhaar bhai paar"

Vessels of sacred texts, sacred spaces, sacred gurus do not ferry you to transcendence.

The choiceless, transcend.

Empty vessels transcend.

Earth cruises through hell zone

Waitarini flows between Earth and Naraka, the realm of Yama. It is believed to purify dead spirits.

Virtuous see it as nectar like water.

Padma Purana speaks of it as Wai -Tarini - sure ferry.

It is equivalent to the Styx river in Greek mythology.

Kaali Jayanti

Allow but a little consciousness

To be conscious is not to be in time

But only in time can the moment in the rose-garden,

Be remembered; involved with past and future.

Only through time time is conquered.

Chinmaya Aradana

Sama, Dama and Chitta-shuddi are necessary prerequisites, to study Vedantic literature.

Vedanta will work it's transcendental ways, only when one is subdued.

Unsubdued may read Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and more; but will be unable to transcend. Like barren rock under pouring rain.

Ganga Saptami

Pilgrimage of all religions is to turn around, arrive within.

And Yogis coined the name Radha, as anagram of Dhara, or outward flow.

Original documentation of the Bhagawat Purana does not mention Radha.

Only a Pramukh Gopika, or a Prime Cowherdess, is mentioned.

The cowherd maidens turned inward, playfully - through their love and devotion to Krishna.

Ways to turn inward are different, for different people.

And there is this narrative of a man, who was given an assignment, by a Buddhist monk.

To listen to the sound, made by striking, with a single palm.
